A medical center in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Compliance professional to join their growing staff as their new?Director of Compliance. In this role, the Director of Compliance will be responsible for overseeing?the medical center's?Compliance Program by?developing, implementing, and expanding visibility for the Corporate Compliance Program across the organization. The?Director of Compliance will:

  • Provide?education to employees, management, senior leadership, and the Board relating to relevant compliance issues
  • Develop?and provide?education on compliance-related policies
  • Work?with the Executive Management Council on emerging Compliance Program activities and issues to ensure appropriate leadership support, awareness, and cross-functional engagement
  • Coordinate auditing and monitoring activities with both internal and external resources
  • Manage external audits and investigations and provide updates to leadership and the Board of Managers, as appropriate
  • Manage Compliance Program operations, including the Compliance Hotline, Conflict of Interest disclosure process, risk assessments, and other activities
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to the organization relating to risk mitigation of identified compliance concerns, including privacy breaches and risks identified through external audits and investigations
  • Provide guidance relating to regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as those relating to overpayments, self-disclosures, internal audits and investigations, privacy and confidentiality, and relationships with referral sources
  • Maintain current knowledge of State and Federal enforcement activities, focus areas, and legal and regulatory developments potentially impacting operations

  • 5+ years of Healthcare Compliance experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Previous experience in a Hospital setting
  • Experience in developing and implementing Compliance policies and education
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting or managing Audits and/or Investigations
  • Project Management background
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Desired Skills

  • Juris Doctorate and/or Master's Degree in a related field
