Job Title: Project Manager/Paralegal - Legal Affairs

Primary Purpose: We are looking for an experienced paralegal/project manager to join the Tapestry, Inc. Law Department, supporting the Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman brands. Among other things, this position have responsibilities with respect to litigation and employment and health and safety issues and policies. The role will report to an attorney in the Law Department.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in project management and legal affairs to?

  • Support both complex litigation matters, such as class actions, as well as single plaintiff personal injury and employment lawsuits, arbitrations, and administrative claims.
  • Serve as a liaison between Law Department and outside counsel in litigation matters
  • Draft correspondence, motions and declarations and identify, gather and analyze information and documents for discovery responses and motions
  • Draft document preservation notices and collecting documents
  • Perform factual and legal research and utilize software (e.g. Westlaw, Pacer) and internal tools to locate, compile and analyze information.
  • Assist with analysis with respect to health and safety-related issues, including policy drafting and rollout
  • Draft and coordinating responses to subpoenas and governmental and administrative claims and charges (i.e., EEOC, OSHA and Ministry of Labor)
  • Calendar and ensure compliance with internal and external deadlines.
  • Assist with tracking legal developments and identify issues and recommending possible solutions and courses of action to Law Department attorneys.
  • Draft, review and revise employment-related agreements and documents.
  • Draft responses to escalated customer issues.
  • Responsibilities

  • Strong proficiency with standard office software and legal research and litigation software, such as Westlaw, Pacer and Relativity
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong analytical/research skills, with ability to work independently and accurately manage large amounts of detailed information

  • Ability to manage projects, prioritize work, multi-task?and respond to shifting priorities.
  • At least four (4) years? experience in a law firm or corporate in-house counsel setting.
  • Work experience performing legal and factual research utilizing specialized software (e.g. Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw) or the internet.
  • Work experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) & Adobe Professional.
  • Work experience in litigation, including electronic discovery, document review and database management.

  • Familiarity with litigation, employment law and OSHA requirements
  • Experience advising on labor and employment law issues.
