Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) has been retained to conduct the search for a contract Paralegal for our client, a well-known construction corporation in Concord, CA.

Seeking a Paralegal to join a rapidly growing team. You will be supporting the practice by preparing documents, as well as organizing and maintaining files.To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to multitask effectively and essentially thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform legal and factual research
  • Draft, revise, and assemble contracts
  • Assist General Counsel with corporate matters, or contract issues
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the company.
  • Provide legal information for pre qualification applications and proposals
  • Draft, track, and process owner contracts, GMP agreements, and principle designer agreements from proposal through execution and distribution.
  • Review and assist project teams and Purchasing in the negotiation of subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Perform records research
  • Organize and analyze information
  • Cross-check and validate information
  • Prepare reports
  • Draft legal documents including agreements and contracts 
  • Prepare correspondence
  • Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal 
  • Knowledgeable in construction management, engineering, or corporate or construction legal support
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques
  • In depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with legal concepts relevant to the construction industry, contracts management, negotiations, legal processes, and systems and rules
  • Bachelors degree
  • Paralegal certification a plus

  • COMPENSATION:
    This opportunity offers a pay rate of $38+ hourly, depending on experience. There is great potential to grow professionally while working for a corporation that is changing the industry.
