What This Position is All About:

Lead all aspects of design and architecture for new highly-amenitized office product to be created in adaptively-reused retail assets. Drive the preparation and coordination of project documentation from programming phase through construction. During the design phase, take the lead on communicating with internal Physical team and external consultants during documentation preparation. Upon shift to construction phase, work closely with Project and Construction Managers to ensure the design intent is met and the end user experience is of the highest quality. Project Architect experience preferred. Experience in all levels of presentation, and production (Revit/BIM Based). Experience leading and working with a team of Jr. Planners.

  • Comprehensive and extensive knowledge of building materials and construction details
  • Knowledge and experience working with local building codes, ADA guidelines, zoning, and other applicable laws
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Schematic Design, Design Development, permitting and Construction Documentation
  • Ability to confidently review, mark-up and make edits to the above documents.
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating design documentation with external consultants
  • Understanding of project budgeting and scheduling with a focus on soft costs and the ability to communicate and work closely with external consultants to ensure that project milestones are being met and deliverables are on-time and complete
  • Ability to initiate and establish business relationships with professionals and officials of other organizations and companies
  • You Also Have:
  • BArch / MArch Degree or equivalent required, licensed architect preferred with large scalespace planning experience.
  • 6 to 8+ years professional design experience in high quality commercial or hospitality projects (Mixed-use residential, cultural, and institutional experience also will be considered)
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills. Should be able to produce product in Powerpointand Adobe InDesign.
  • Lead project teams that include high profile/high visibility projects
  • Excellent decision-making skills and a highly resourceful problem solver
  • Excellent time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and ?people? skills
  • Proficient in the following programs: Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Earth, Microsoft Office, Enscape.
  • As The Senior Planner, Real Estate, you will:
  • Design, document, and execute multiple simultaneous high quality projects, by collaborating with all internal and external teams. Producingand designing hand-off pacakges using Revit.
  • Lead the creation of a conceptual framework for the project, including theevolution of a projects design principles and methodologies
  • Maintain York Factory standards, goals, and brand ideals
  • Communicate regularly with management and your team regarding project status, organize meetings and proper agendas.
  • Make critical path decisions to ensure the overall success of the project, including being on time, on budget, and to an exceptional level of quality with work-back plan experience and execution.
  • Provide mentorship and support to less experienced team members, including review and comment of their work
  • Provide project and staff related insights to the leadership and management groups to support workflow and design efficiency improvements
  • Take ownership of identified issues and work together with your team internally to resolve them
  • Be responsible for determining and organizing functional requirements, providing programming, space planning, and code analysis
  • Produce all design and hand-off packages for a project utilizing Revit
  • Support in the Due Diligence process as needed
  • Lead the coordination of a comprehensive and coordinated Construction Document set
  • Be the main point of contact for external consultants
  • Lead internal and external team meetings, provide clear and concise actionable agendas
