Purpose of the position:

The Contract Analyst will work closely withthe sales teams and customers to prepare and execute sales contracts at allstages of the sales process including generation of license agreements,amendments & renewals. The ContractAnalyst will be an internal subject matter expert on legal and contractingprocesses for the Clinical Solutions Sales team. They will work closely with the legal team,pricing, product owners and Sales Operations management to ensure our contractsadhere internal polices and best-practices.

Organizational Overview:

The Clinical Solutions Division of Elsevieruses its industry-leading intellectual property and content to create Clinicaland Drug Reference, Patient Engagement, Performance Management, Workflow andDecision Support products for healthcare professionals across a range ofpractice settings and commercial organizations. These products and tools aid in improved patient outcomes, diseasemanagement, medication error reductions, workflow improvements, effectivepatient management, economic analysis and cost control.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Integral part of the Elsevier customerteam working on customer contracts;works with sales and the customer on assigned projects
  • Maintain systems, not limited to butincludes CRM data entry facilitating invoice generation and accurate reporting
  • Analyze contract requirements, terms,and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies; suggest edits tobring drafts in line with group and business unit policies.
  • Administer contracts - Draft, edit andnegotiate various contracts including master agreements, product serviceagreements, licenses, amendments, etc.
  • Responsible for the lifecycle of eachcontract including review, execution and management of the contract repository
  • Provide customers with answers to contractrelated questions (i.e. terms and conditions)
  • Act as the principal liaison between internalstakeholders, the Contracts Department and the sales teams to coordinate reviewsand approvals of contracts
  • Execute and monitor negotiatedcontracts
  • Files and maintains contracts
  • Performs related duties as assigned

  • The ideal candidate will have 1 2years of experience working on sales contracts, with an understanding of thesales process, working in a large sales organization that sells contractrenewals of products/services.
  • Contracts and/or proposal experience ina large sales organization or equivalent department
  • Knowledge of the contracting process, preferablyhaving worked with IT related products
  • Ability to analyze and recognizepotential sales obstacles and recommend solutions
  • CRM system data entry experience
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office(Excel, Word & PowerPoint) required
  • Highly detail oriented with a strongdesire to produce accurate, detailed and quality work
  • Desire to learn and to share knowledgewith other team members
  • Logical thinker, and effectivecommunication skills
  • Highly self-motivated, team & goaloriented with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Projects a positive attitude withco-workers & clients
