The Times is seeking to hire a Head of Talent & Inclusion Partners to work with leaders to embed organizational capabilities, behaviors, and structures into our non-news departments. You will strive to foster a high-performance work environment across the business side HRBP function and will work closely with other members of the HR team (known at The New York Times as Talent & Inclusion) to deliver services that support the Company's mission and strategy.. Reporting to the EVP, Talent & Inclusion, in this role, you will act as a trusted counsel to the Revenue, Product, Data, Technology, and Missions business leaders by:. Building relationships by providing trusted and credible guidance, advice and support, anticipating needs and proactively recommending solutions.. Serving as an active member of the senior leadership teams you support, influencing and occasionally challenging members of the team.. Gaining a deep understanding of how the business works - working with commercial and financial leaders, and seek on business trends internally and externally.. Supporting the Company's Inclusion & Diversity strategy. Serving as a coach giving guidance and consultation to leaders and managers.. You will also help line management by:. Providing day to day guidance (coaching, career development, disciplinary actions.). Assessing employee climate, tracking trends in employee behaviors, and offering solutions to leaders as appropriate (Annual employee survey; exit interviews and check-ins are examples of tools to help with assessments.). Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues.. Partnering with the legal department as needed to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.. Working with Learning & Development to identify training and other organizational development needs for business teams and individuals.. Managing a team of Business Partners.. You would also serve as a liaison with the broader Talent & Inclusion organization to deliver services and programs that meet business needs:. Supporting transformational change efforts by providing consulting support, guidance and a framework for leading and managing change.. Working with Talent & Inclusion colleagues to develop succession/talent planning efforts that ensure the business/digital teams have the talent needed to deliver on their strategy.. Developing and using actionable people metrics to provide insights that help drive business decisions.. Effectively partnering with specialist functions across the organization.. Qualifications:. 7+ years experience in a Business Partner or Generalist role working with senior leaders.. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related area is preferred. Master's level business or HR credentials preferred.. Strong business acumen. Industry experience in media and/or digital companies strongly preferred.. Broad expertise in organizational behavior, change management, talent management, policy implementation, employee relations and communications.. Ability to build cross-boundary relationships. Easily gains trust and support of peers. Can work effectively at all levels in the organization.. Ability to cope effectively with change - shifts priorities easily, comfortable with ambiguity.. Willingness to take unpopular stands when necessary. Challenges the status quo.. Ability to organize and track quantitative data, analyze and identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis.. Excellent customer focus. Builds strong rapport with clients.. Proven negotiation, conflict resolution, influencing and stakeholder management skills.. Strong oral and written communication skills are required..
