**Job Summary:**

The Strategic Service Partners (SSP) team is accountable for the day-to-day governance and oversight of our key strategic end-to-end Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Relationships (currently SE2, Wilton-Re, LifeCare and Lincoln) in addition to any/all project delivery impacting these vendor relationships. This position will lead, manage and direct all activity for the SSP Organization that is tied to Regulatory, Compliance, Legal and Internal/External Audit activity. This role is a direct report to the Head of Strategic Service Partners. As a member of the leadership team it is expected that this individual will operate with the strategy in mind; framing actions to align accordingly.

**Role Characteristics:**

+ Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that have short to medium-term focus

+ Works with minimal guidance on more complex projects

+ Capable of applying knowledge to handle all but the most complex problems independently

+ Anticipates change and directs or redirects efforts

+ Individual typically has at least 5-7 yrs. of related experience

+ Identifies resource skillset requirements to ensure adequate support of initiatives (where applicable)

**High Level Job Responsibilities:**

+ Understands vision/mission and connection of future state solutions

+ Recommend changes to drive expected results, mitigate risk, while balancing cost and benefits and operational efficiency

+ Leads any/all activity tied to audit and compliance actions defined

+ 38a-1 reporting & investigation for variable annuity and life products administered among vendor partners

+ Identifies opportunity to create/define standard work

+ State/legislative tracking changes & assessment of vendor impact/coordination through RM

+ Drive follow-up and remediation of findings to successful completion of arising from corporate and compliance audits and regulatory examinations on time and within specified parameters. Responsibilities include tracking and solving of open issues and resolutions

+ Influence and collaborate with business partners to improve controls and implement mitigations

+ Key SSP Liaison for Fraud Oversight/Management for all vendor partners

+ Negotiate and coordinate appropriate solutions for identified risk exposure to resolve or enhance audit, compliance or other related incidents and mitigations

+ Lead review of SOC 1 for any/all vendor partners

+ Quarterly/Annual events (i.e. Reg 60 annual report, Attestations, Rep Letter certifications, Suitability reviews)

+ Supports broader organization if/where there are operational process changes required to support an ever changing regulatory environment

+ Manage and partner with third party providers to monitor project tasks and controls to ensure on-time and quality goals are met

+ etail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills

+ Ability to navigate the internal business environment, work with senior leaders and work cross functionally with compliance, audit, Insurance Operations Regulatory Risk, finance and other organizations as defined

+ Ability to listen to understand and to influence; internal stakeholders as well as vendor partners on plans and driving accountability to meet defined deliverables

+ Dynamic and proactive; flexible, resilient and comfortable with ambiguity

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of partners across the MMUS organization and SSP vendor partners

+ Well organized and capable of defining greatest areas of risk and associated priority

+ Possesses high business acumen to build and sustain effective relationships

+ Represents maturity, professionalism, commitment and passion

+ Exceptional PowerPoint & Excel skills

+ Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

+ College degree / MBA a plus
