Job Function Summary :

The incumbent is responsible for advising Getinge business leaders on risks under US healthcare fraud and abuse laws and regulations, and for providing transactional support to Getinge’s sales, marketing, and manufacturing businesses in North America.

Job Functions : (Primary “essential” duties and responsibilities)

  • Provide legal advice to Getinge’s healthcare business leaders respect to the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, and commercial laws and norms impacticing the company’s North America businesses.
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of healthcare commercial agreements with Getinge’s customers and partners, such as for GPO/IDN, distribution, services, consulting, and similar.
  • Support the development and implementation of commercial programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with US healthcare fraud and abuse requirements and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in sales, marketing, finance, compliance, regulatory, and operational roles on Getinge projects. Support the development of corporate policies and procedures, and corporate governance initiatives, generally.
  • R equired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain Getinge’s high standards for ethical behavior and compliance with laws and regulations in all activities.
  • Support development of legal department standards, processes, and templates.Must possess good judgment in knowing when and how to escalate issues to the appropriate level and propose solutions.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of legal experience, with prior experience at a healthcare or lifesciencse company.
  • Hands-on experience advising clients on healthcare fraud and abuse laws and regulations. Familiarity with AdvaMed Code.
  • Law degree from accredited legal program
  • Admitted to at least one state bar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is essential.
