Roc Nation, a Live Nation joint venture, is seeking a VP, Business & Legal Affairs who will report to the COO. The position is based in our New York City headquarters and will play a critical role in the future growth and success of the most influential sports and entertainment agency in the world - Roc Nation. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, highly motivated individual who functions with confidence and expertise in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment.. Responsibilities:. Structure, draft and negotiate various music and entertainment industry related agreements, including, exclusive recording agreements, talent management agreements, music publishing agreements, content license agreements, confidentiality agreements, services agreements, independent contractor agreements, promotion agreements, work-for-hire agreements, film/TV shopping agreements, film/TV production services and executive producer agreements and other agreements related generally to the entertainment and sports industries.. Advise and counsel various business groups within the company regarding day-to-day legal and business issues.. Coordinate with outside counsel regarding various matters, including, trademark registration and enforcement, litigation matters and employment matters.. Requirements:. Ability to multi-task, cover a high volume of deals, and work independently to structure, negotiate and expeditiously close both simple and complex transactions.. Knowledge of the music and overall entertainment industries and related legal trends and business practices.. Experience in the following areas: copyright, music related rights, content distribution, licensing, entertainment, media and internet law.. Excellent transactional drafting, negotiation and organizational skills.. Ability to develop highly effective and productive working relationships within department and throughout Roc Nation.. A strong work ethic with an eye toward action, change, speed and revenue growth strategies.. Qualifications:. J.D. and a minimum of 7 years of relevant, transactional legal experience at a large law firm and/or in house entertainment or content distribution company.. Current active member, in good standing, of the New York State Bar or out-of-state bar association with eligibility to register as in-house counsel..
