With 61 offices and 900+ attorneys, Jackson Lewis is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate for the New York City office.


Ideal candidate will have employment law experience, excellent academic credentials, New York Bar Admission, excellent written and oral communication skills and strong time management and project management skills. Responsibilities to include defense of agency charges of discrimination, lawsuits involving a range of employment related claims and daily advice and counsel to clients regarding various employment and labor law issues.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will handle defense of agency charges of discrimination, lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and advice and counseling involving similar issues
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination, wage-hour, contract, employment tort, and restrictive covenant cases
  • Advise and train employers on a wide range of employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination laws
  • Effectively and persuasively write briefs and motions for the benefit of our clients
  • Cultivate productive and effective relationships with clients
  • Argue decisively at court hearings
  • Conduct fact gathering and advantageous depositions
  • Defend properly prepared client representatives at deposition


Skills and Educational Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • New YorkAdmission with "active" status required
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in employment defense litigation
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment
  • Understanding of current state and federal court and agency procedures
