Contract HR Director, Informa Intelligence | New York, NY

Informa Intelligence is looking for a HR Director to fulfill a year long contract. A major component of this role will be defining, monitoring and reporting on Performance Improvement Plan, (PIP), initiatives. Additionally, the Contract HR Director will work closely with business leaders embedded in substantial and complex business units, influencing and steering strategy and subsequent implementation. The Contract HR Director will also need to be able to offer advice and guidance on HR best practice and policy to all colleagues and managers and handle advanced ER issues.

The role will report to and support the Director of Human Resources who manages the Global Business Partnering function and the role will also be significantly involved with Informa Intelligence projects that impact and add value to both the HR community and colleagues within the division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate management decisions to bring best solutions for colleagues and business alike
  • Provide additional support divestments
  • Define consistent PIP processes for UK and US; train HR team on process and responsibilities
  • Monitor PIPs to ensure consistent application of process
  • Sign-off all redundancies and terminations; first escalation point for issues that arise
  • Ensure Employee Relations tracker stays updated (via the HR Managers/HRBPs)
  • Look for themes across PIPs and Employee Relations issues, advice on managerial concerns, or procedural improvements required
  • Review exit interview data monthly, discuss themes with HRD
  • Ensure clear policies are in place (e.g. homeworking, anti-harassment) and consistently communicated
  • Partner with HRD in discussions related to process improvements within HR Service Delivery (collect feedback from HRBPs, identify concerns and provide constructive feedback to HRSD)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the Intelligence HR team to ensure a collaborative joined up approach within the team
  • Proactively build a network with colleagues in the wider HR community to work on business and HR projects
  • Work with the L&D team to ensure the training needs of your area are clearly defined and supported
  • Support the Intelligence HR team in the implementation of Intelligence-wide HR strategies and consistent HR processes and ways of working across the functions
  • Offer expert HR advice and guidance to line managers and staff in areas including discipline, grievance, performance management, absence, performance reviews and remuneration.

  • Knowledge & Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of HR experience in a fast moving, dynamic environment
  • Extensive knowledge and practice of defining and executing PIPs
  • In-depth knowledge of local employment law and HR practices
  • Experience of coaching senior leaders and advising Managers on complex ER issues
  • A track record of continuous professional and management development
  • Professional HR qualification preferred
