HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a Contracts Manager to join its Contracts Department. This position is responsible for preparing contracts and amendments for imprints in the Children's and Trade publishing groups. This position will report to the Assistant General Counsel. Responsibilities Prepare, draft, negotiate, finalize author contracts and amendments and other contracts as needed for Children's and Trade publishing groups Review requests submitted by editors Ensure effective operations by interfacing with Royalty, Publishing Operations and Finance Departments Interpret contract details to answer queries from internal personnel and third parties Advise on author estate matters as required Perform other tasks as needed and assigned Potential to work on special projects, such as preparing and negotiating intellectual property and entertainment and media related licensing agreements as needed Qualifications A 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience 5-6 years of prior independent contracts drafting and negotiating experience in the Contracts Department of a book publisher or other relevant experience required Knowledge of and previous drafting experience of media licensing agreements, a plus Strong verbal, communication, drafting and negotiating skills Strong MS Office skills Excellent attention to detail with exceptional organizational ability Able to work independently and set priorities under pressureSalary Range: NAMinimum Qualification5 - 7 years
