The Specialist, Legal & Corporate Affairs will be responsible for a wide variety of processes and projects in the areas of: Vendor Management, Department Budget, Records Management; Litigation and other areas as assigned. This individual must be able to prioritize work flow including the independent management of completing time sensitive complex work and management of ad hoc projects.
Vendor and Budget Management: Accountable for all aspects of vendor management within LCA including but not limited to, 3-way match, setting up new vendors, setting up new purchase orders, processing of invoices, processing check requests for Legal Affairs law firm retention letters and the monitoring and tracking of vendors for LCA.
Responsible for the tracking of the Legal and Corporate Affairs Budget including but not limited to, annual budget preparation, tracking of spend, preparation of spreadsheets and other documents for annual and quarterly reviews and assist with the yearly audit by external vendor.
Assist and support the preparation and filing of various annual reports and state licensing.
Records Management: provide support in the area of records management for Legal & Corporate Affairs: Responsibilities will include: assisting with training, records event days, management of offsite records, maintaining the departmental matrix and other related tasks as assigned. In addition, the Analyst will provide support of the overall Corporate Records Management Program as assigned.
Litigation and other Projects: Provide support to the Litigation and IP groups on litigation matters, support litigation tasks including but not limited to: sending and tracking legal hold emails to new hires, terms and transfers; tracking of e-discovery requests, questionnaires, legal holds and other tasks as assigned. Work on other projects (including those not otherwise included) as assigned by management of Legal Affairs.
Qualifications Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; Bachelors Degree, required. Paralegal certification a plus.
2-3 years experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm. Paralegal experience a plus.
Experience with budget and/or vendor management and/or litigation preferred.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Position requires communications both internally and externally with vendors and some state Government Agencies
Must be able to work independently as well as being able to adapt and work on various project teams
Work with a high degree of discretion
Proficient in Office 365 (in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other new systems/tools quickly
Comfortable and expertise working with numbers
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
