Contract and Commercial Manager USA - NY - New York USA - IL - Chicago Responsible for ensuring that effective supplier management takes place of strategic partners during the Value Management, Assurance and Feedback stages of the Procurement Lifecycle. Works collaboratively with Senior IT Leaders to provide rigorous commercial oversight; applying the mechanics necessary to manage the contracts, to ensure suppliers compliance with contractual obligations, to ensure long-term sustainability of agreements and to control leakage to maximize QBEs value from the contracts. Primary Responsibilities Ensure QBEs contract and commercial interests are represented in governance forums with strategically important suppliers to ensure all terms and conditions are metApply rigorous contract and commercial governance to enable the successful delivery of strategically important suppliers to the businessWork with IT Leaders and Executives to build and enhance strategic supplier relationships to achieve exceptional levels of quality and service while maintaining a competitive pricing structureEnsure relevant stakeholders, customers and user requirements are known and performance targets are aligned with themSupport the resolution of supplier performance deficiencies or issuesEnsure the satisfaction levels of key clients are assessed and feedback received is acted uponActively identify and deliver opportunities to reduce operating costs through more effective supplier managementManage external supplier costsEnsure the Service Credit mechanics of supplier agreements are managed effectivelyEnsure supplier risks in all major contractual arrangements are identified, managed and mitigatedUtilize QBE procurement systems to effectively manage the ongoing delivery of existing supplier agreementsSupport the delivery of change projects and programs (both business and technical solutions)Design and implement communication governance and associated planMonitor the market place movement and innovation of strategic suppliersSupport benchmarking activities aligned to QBE contract terms and conditions to ensure commercial benefit is deliveredManage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs andproperly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibilityContribute to a positive environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and guiding leaders to reward performance and value can do people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and funAdopt QBE values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions and interpersonal interactions; manage own career development by soliciting feedback and valuing other perspectives Required Qualifications Education Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Experience 4 years relevant experienceExperience with large service contract interpretation and ongoing delivery of contractual performance; managing large service suppliers in the technology sector; Experience of Service Level Agreement measurement and review Preferred Qualifications Education Master's Degree Experience Proven experience of successfully managing complex IT service agreements Licenses/Certifications Relevant industry certification (i.e. CIPS) Knowledge Solid understanding of key global strategic service suppliers in the financial services and insurance industrySpecialist contract and commercial knowledge including specific outsourced service provision knowledgeProven record of delivering supply chain cost reductionExpert knowledge of Technology contracts and performance managementStrong understanding of IT trends and the implication for the businessStrong influencing and negotiation skills in an outsourced environmentContract handling and dispute resolution skillsAbility to challenge while maintaining a positive relationshipAbility to present detailed analytical information concisely and to clearly identify key issuesAbility to keep message consistent Skills Commercial AcumenStrong relationship and influencing skillsCommunication skills, ability to delivery clear message to internal and external stakeholders using appropriate tools and techniquesStrong understanding of common commercial and legal contractual terminologyRelationship management ability to cooperate / collaborate with business representatives and third party suppliers Abilities Contract management and ongoing delivery of contractual obligationsEffectively implement significant cost savings through sourcing agreementsWork with onshore and offshore managed service contractsManage multiple stakeholders in a complex service delivery environment across multiple regions Work Environment Travel frequency Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually) Physical Demands General office jobs Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
