The Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory Division within the Institutional Clients Group ("ICG") is seeking a Senior Analyst to join Loan Portfolio Management ("LPM"). LPM manages the corporate and financial institution credit exposure of the ICG and is responsible for the hedging of credit exposure through a range of relevant capital markets transactions including CLOs, credit derivatives, and loan trading. LPM also leads Citi's digitization program to improve efficiencies related to Corporate Banking business processes using emergent technologies.

The LPM Senior Analyst will work with a group of professionals with varied backgrounds and expertise, as well as with partners in Banking, Risk, Capital Markets and Technology, and will develop an understanding of risk mitigation strategy structuring and execution, credit hedging tools, credit and capital approval processes, loan agreements, loan and credit derivative valuation and accounting designations, and will support the firm-wide push towards corporate lending digitization.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in client transactions, projects or assignments as the junior member of a professional team
  • Conduct economic/financial research
  • Provide evaluations of a company's financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends or data
  • Monitor Loan & CDS market trends and provide pre-trading guidance to senior Banking & Risk partners on loan valuation, hedge costs and execution strategies
  • Perform pro-forma exposure and hedge analyses on various portfolios, obligors, and transactions

  • Develop a deep understanding of the lending portfolio and associated data, and provide Trading Desks with trade analysis and custom reporting on live orders

  • Manage Corporate Loan Portfolio reporting on a daily basis and review significant lending events that require changes to hedge strategy

  • Model loan valuations under various market data scenarios and accounting methods; manage Citi Loan Pricing model inputs to support daily MTM processes

  • Develop and maintain portfolio modeling tools for internal / external capital methodologies

  • Frequent Ad-hoc projects (i.e., industry limit hedging analysis, capital management exercises, etc.)

  • Assist in Technology and Business with developing tools and reporting to improve efficiency across risk mitigation efforts and loan portfolio management

  • Assist Technology and Business in developing process solutions related to digitization and artificial intelligence, and provide analysis required to successfully implement system solutions

  • Expected to be fluent in loan products, loan documents, risk and financial data and reporting

  • Perform monthly hedge analysis to support Volcker regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge is required, including comprehensive knowledge of the
  • Corporate Banking business, its related products and pertinent regulations affecting it
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to process large sets of data, extract meaningful conclusions, and drive trading decisions based on market dynamics, business needs, and internal frameworks

  • Ability to take on demanding responsibilities and work independently while juggling multiple tasks at a time

  • Experience with Python and SQL strongly preferred

  • CFA Charterholder or progress towards the certification preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
