Overview
Castleton Commodities International (CCI) is hiring an In-house counsel with 4-6 years' experience in Corporate and Credit work for the Stamford, CT office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a best in class global commodity merchant and legal team and gain exposure to all areas of the commodities industry.
Responsibilities
* Negotiate and advise on a broad range of corporate financing matters, including borrowing base and working capital facilities, merchant bilateral financings and project financings, as well as prepayment, pre-export and other structured financings.
* Coordinate issues across various internal departments, including trading, credit, risk, finance, operations, tax, and compliance
* Act as legal advisor on acquisition of assets, JV's, and other M&A activity and the integration of those assets into the CCI portfolio. Provide legal support to portfolio companies. In addition, this role will be focused on finance activities.
* Additional responsibilities include the drafting of commercial contracts and general corporate legal work.
* Comfortable working with internal and external counsel both in the US and abroad
Qualifications
* Minimum of 4 years' experience at a top rated law firm
* Qualification to practice in New York, Connecticut, or Texas
* Credit and Loan experience is a must. Prior experience within the Energy industry is a plus.
* Restructuring and/or bankruptcy experience a plus
* Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills
* Must be strategic thinker capable of competently and comfortably advising creative business development team and interacting with senior management
