Kelly Legal Managed Services (KLMS) is seeking an experienced Tax and Estate Planning Attorney for an Associate position in the Bloomfield Hills Office of a full service Michigan firm. Associate Attorney Responsibilities Include: • Preparation of general probate and trust administration documents, including accountings and preparation of gift and estate tax returns; • Draft and advise on tax implications in various business agreements involving entity formation, loan documentation, buying and selling businesses, employment and contractor agreements, and shareholder/member agreements; • Create and review estate plans, recommend and implement advanced transfer tax and gift tax planning strategies, and draft the necessary documents. • Assist in drafting the firm’s estate planning forms, including but not limited to trust documents; • Supervise paralegal staff and other attorneys in working on estate tax and fiduciary tax forms/matters. Qualifications • LLM and admission to the Michigan bar; • Well versed at estate planning for taxable and non-taxable estates, including high net worth individuals, closely held business owners and their families; • Familiarity with corporate and real estate transactions; • At least five years of experience working as an LLM in a firm with a group of attorneys focused on sophisticated estate planning, probate and trust administration as well as general business transactions; • Strong oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply; • Outstanding writing and editing skills; This is an excellent opportunity to join a top-notch firm.
