This position requires effective communication with stakeholders in pre-clinical, clinical, finance and to independently negotiate contracts that protect the Biotech company from risk and ensure compliance with company guidelines.Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
Conducts thorough and appropriate assessments, analysis, drafts, reviews, negotiations and issuance of assigned contractual documents, including; CDAs, Consulting Agreements, Vendor Master Service Agreements/Work Orders/Amendments thereof while adhering to required aggressive timelines.
Leads contract life cycle management process related to vendor, government, and collaborative agreements.
Negotiates the legal language and SOW/budget, utilizing templates and fallback parameters while taking into consideration risk exposure and risk tolerance.
Makes recommendations for process efficiencies and a forward thinker in areas of high complexity.
Ensures contract provisions are clear and conform to company policies and processes.
Consistently adheres to contract and document tracking requirements.
Proactively leads process improvements or other projects that enhance and streamline contract processes, systems, tools and other resources.
Strong contract language drafting and negotiation skills in a variety of different agreement types.
Proficient with Word, Adobe Pro, and have a working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional manner
Able to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management and personnel
Able to comprehend and manage business contracts and other complex documents
Strong commitment to customer service Demonstrated ability to maintain problem-solving approach in collaboration with internal and external contacts
Strong organizational skills; able to organize and follow through with projects; ability to efficiently handle large volume of contracts
Strong organizational and planning skills and meticulous attention to detail
Able to work independently while exercising initiative, flexibility and good judgment
Training Paralegal or Contract Management experience in Biotech preferred
3 or more years of experience in life sciences legal or contracts management field
