About the Role. The Director of Compliance and Quality is primarily responsible for leading and managing and ensuring adherence to all programs related to Compliance and Quality (including documentation) initiatives and programs at Aspenti. This person will be responsible for providing guidance and training on compliance and quality matters as well as enforcing laws, regulations, and policies when necessary, in all aspects and levels of the business. It will be in this person's responsibility and duty to preserve the company's integrity by ensuring the company stays on a lawful and ethical course and serve as a business partner to the organization in all things compliance and quality related.. Key Responsibilities. o Effectively manage and lead the operations of the Compliance and Quality department in collaboration with the Executive Leadership, and have direct leadership responsibilities of colleagues. o Develop Compliance and Quality Team to embrace and promote a culture of continuous improvement. o Lead direct reports through skill and career development conversations, ensuring the team is meeting their personal and company goals. o Ensure the company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. o Draft, modify and implement company policies and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.. o Develop and oversee audit systems to prevent, identify, or address violations of laws, regulations, and internal policies. o Evaluate the efficiency of internal controls and provide continuous improvement solutions - including non-conforming events.. o Draft and revise procedures, and reports, periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.. o Collaborate with appropriate departments to monitor enforcement of policies and regulations and serve as a key resource for departments in consideration of compliance impacts in their operations or projects.. o Assess, identify, and advise on the organization's present and future compliance and quality risks.. o Serve as the lead or a key partner for internal initiatives focused on improving compliance and quality or implementing new compliance programs or initiatives.. o Design, develop, and lead compliance training programs.. o Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.. o Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.. o Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.. o Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and best practices within industry and share insights with key stakeholders as needed.. o Investigate HIPAA Incident Reports, identifying whether a breach has occurred, determining the risk of any breach, root causes of the incident, and in collaboration with the relevant department corrective actions to avoid similar incidents in the future.. o Maintain all required documentation for the OIG Compliance Program.. o Maintain all required documentation for the HIPAA Security and Privacy.. Aspenti Health Colleagues are a team with compassion and collaboration to be an integral part of the recovery community.. o Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in Healthcare compliance and/or quality, revenue cycle, or related field. Proven experience working in the compliance function of a healthcare provider is required.. o Well versed in legal guidelines, healthcare regulations, and compliance and quality best practices, and possess the knowledge of how to research these issues when necessary.. o Possess in depth knowledge and understanding of CMS, OIG, and state agency standards applicable to clinical laboratory providers.. o Willingness and ability to work collaboratively, learn new things and listen. o Works from a place of trust and advocacy. o Demonstrated experience managing a department, functional area, or team(s). o Strong understanding of HIPAA standards.. o Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.. o High level of reliability, dedication and self-initiative.. o Must be detail-oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills.. o Must have excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.. o Consistently works in a highly organized and efficient manner and ability multitask while maintaining attention to detail.. o Acts responsibly and follows professional code of conduct
