Arconic is currently insearch of Senior Counsel, Commercial  to join the team in Pittsburgh, PA.

Senior Counsel provides advanced legal advice and servicesto the leadership of the Company, its businesses and its resource units.

Candidate has significant experience with complex corporatetransactions and sophisticated commercial work with strong knowledge of the associatedlaws and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR, intellectual property, trade compliance,CFIUS, Hart Scott Rodino). Candidate hasa proven track record of successfully negotiating and documenting transactions withvarious customers, including aerospace and automotive OEMs and defense primecontractors and successfully supporting clients in the resolution of disputes withsuch customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage and address complex corporate transactions and sophisticated commercial work and related legal issues from beginning to end.
  • On a sustained and measured basis, will demonstrate:

    advanced problem-solvingcapabilities, including the ability to analyze complex situations from both alegal and commercial perspective and break them down into defined tasks andactions, as well as the ability to effectively use advanced dispute resolutionskills in order to reach an acceptable commercial and legal result

  • the ability to manage a complexworkload and handle multiple projects concurrently with appropriateprioritization

  • the understanding, consideration andmanagement of the potential impact and consequences of legal matters ordecisions within her or his own direct client/customer base on other parts ofthe business or other functional areas

  • Strategic thinking, including theability to anticipate potential client or customer problems and takesappropriate action to prevent undue risk, including providing effective directionand counsel to the Company

  • The effective advocacy of legalpositions and balance, risk-based advice with a commitment to reach decision andthe ability to clearly communicate in an influencing manner that garners thesupport of others

  • The ability to lead, work with and workthrough the engagement of others (including cross functional teams) toaccomplish objectives and to achieve the highest quality results and impact

  • The ability to build trust andcooperation with internal customers, clients, peers and external partners inorder to get his or her job done effectively

  • The ability to train, develop andmentor other lawyers, including developing lawyers for leadership roles

  • The recognition of organizationalbarriers and ability to create and adjust strategy as necessary to drive results

  • Having high integrity, alignmentwith Company values, well developed substantive knowledge and business acumen

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications
  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law institution
  • Membership in the Pennsylvania Bar or ability to obtain admission
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience with complex corporate transactions and sophisticated commercial work with strong knowledge of the associated laws and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR, intellectual property, trade compliance, CFIUS, Hart Scott Rodino). Candidate has a proven track record of successfully negotiating and documenting transactions with various customers, including aerospace and automotive OEMs and defense prime contractors and successfully supporting clients in the resolution of disputes with such customers.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • Preferred Qualifications
