Specifically, this position supports the U.S. Area and Global Brand Teams. The Director: Serves as primary compliance liaison to franchise/brand leadership, including Commercial, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional business leaders. Actively engages with business partners to provide strategic compliance guidance on the development and execution of proposed strategic and tactical initiatives. Identifies complex compliance issues, analyzes alternatives and works with business partners to develop and implement solutions. Possesses in-depth knowledge of AbbVies businesses as well as the external risk environment. Frequently serves as brand support liaison to other areas of the Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC). Identifies and manages compliance implications of novel proposed brand initiatives with potential to have impact at the enterprise level. Operates independently with autonomy and limited supervision. Manages three or more direct reports. Demonstrates strong leadership competencies and may serve as a delegate for the VP, Business Compliance. Position Scope Reports to the VP, Business Compliance. Assigned matters have significant impact to the companys ethics and compliance program. Strategically partners with Legal, Regulatory, Public Affairs, and other areas of OEC. Presents to relevant stakeholders, including Senior Leadership. BA/BS or equivalent work experience required. JD or MBA preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years applicable experience, with strong preference for health care compliance and/or legal experience. Proven strong written and verbal interpersonal skills. Able to be agile, multitask and work in a dynamic environment, and meet organizational objectives and deadlines. Able to support multiple business partners while building strong working relationships with cross-functional Senior Leadership.
